Beat the Heat with an Affogato!

This summer, skip the ordinary and savor something truly indulgent. Meet your new seasonal obsession: the affogato.

A dreamy fusion of Panera Dark Roast coffee poured over creamy vanilla ice cream, the affogato is the perfect balance of hot and cold, rich and refreshing.

Whether you're cooling down after a sunny day or craving a sweet pick-me-up, this Italian-inspired treat delivers pure joy in every spoonful.

Mix it up with other flavors like Panera Hazelnut Creme coffee or Panera Caramel coffee.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cold brew coffee or iced coffee (strong and chilled)
  • 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream (or your favorite flavor)
  • Optional: chocolate syrup or caramel drizzle
  • Optional: chocolate crumbs

Steps

Chill the Glass:

Place your serving glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes for a frosty touch.

Scoop the Ice Cream:

Add 1 generous scoop of vanilla ice cream to the bottom of the chilled glass.

Add Your Coffee:

To make cold brew coffee, combine coarsely ground coffee with cold water using 1 cup grounds to 4 cups water. Let the mixture steep in the fridge for 12 to 18 hours. Strain through a fine mesh or coffee filter, then serve over ice, diluted if desired.

Slowly pour 1 cup of Panera cold brewed or iced coffee  over the ice cream. Let it fizz slightly as the coffee hits the ice cream.

Top & Serve:

Optional: drizzle with chocolate or caramel syrup, or chocolate crumbs. Serve with a straw and spoon.

It’s coffee, it’s dessert—it’s everything summer needs.
